          WALT: Reflect about 2018

Well I just want to start off with a this year has been an exciting,amazing and funny year. This year has been a hell of a ride,one of thing I think I was really proud of achieving is being more confident. The new things that I have discovered about myself is that I can be more confident and communicate to others that I don't causally talk to. I learned that I can use figurative language in my stories to make them more exciting.

5 people I spent most of my time was Toma,Aumau,Suave,Deme and Tevita. I saw these boys as my brothers we had each others back and would do nearly everything together. I think the biggest positive impact was Toma and Aumau these two people helped me in my work sports and emotional times. 

So this year has been the best year during my time here at TPS.

Pest Traps

WALT: Write an Reflection about an text we have been reading and learning through on last week

Through on last week we have been reading a text from a app called Kami. We have read this text to learn about biosecurity, by understanding how pests are dangerous to New Zealand.

The animals we have in New Zealand are Kiwis,Pig,Dog and Cats and more. I think that the idea of making better and more advanced traps are a great idea. So no one gets hurt resetting them and not needing to reset them everyday but every 6 months.

I think that they could work on even more and upgraded and try even spread there knowledge, around the world and not just in New Zealand. By improving the trap they should make a detector for humans in case a human walks along and accidently touches it. What I found challenging was understanding diffrent words i've never seen before. I think my next steps would be to research more and understand more advanced words.

Athletics Reflection

                WALT: Write a reflection about Athletics day

Last week Friday Tamaki Primary School had an Athletics event that was going on thru the whole day. The people that were there were families the house groups and teachers. The events that were going on thru the day were long jump, high jump, shot put and discuss.

We had this event because we would race and do events to show who wins and gets there house name on the the shield, we had this event last year and we won as for this year we also won. I was very happy ant the team how they were showing teamwork and effort of practicing new chants. This wouldn't of happen if it wasn't for the teachers planning and setting up the athletics day for everyone to have fun.

I learnt that I am very competitive and can show a lot of sportsmanship. The setting was beautiful it was a sunny day the atmosphere was wonderful, everyone showing teamwork by show school values by cheering there team on.

Manaiakalani Film Festival Reflection

IALT: Reflect about the Manaiakalani film festival

Today we  went to the Sylvia Park Hoyts to watch movies made around the eastern suburb. From diffrent schools to present their work from this year by showing a video. Schools that we watched at the Hoyts was Pt England, Panmure Bridge, Sommerville and ourselves. 

My favorite movie was by Pt England Room 6. I Liked this movie because it related to a game and was very diffrent and unique, also because I really like to play this game and it makes me excited to watch when I hear about it.

Maths Reflection

WALT: Read decimals in three places

Today we had a maths session and we learning about decimals. One thing I found challenging was thinking of different strategies to answer and explain my strategies and answers. My next steps could be to practice my decimals, because maths is a subject a I am not really confident in and I think I could do better practicing. I learnt that for decimals it will be easier if you know your place value.

Today we were discussing the technology in our homes. I learned that technology is not just related to electricity. I learned that technology is something that has a useful purpose, the technology that helps me and my family is digital communication and food technology, digital communication helps my family by contacting one and another.   

Food technology helps my family by giving us energy to work,learn and do all sorts of things. One thing I find challenging when eating food is eating healthy. I think my next steps would be to think more about technology and take the information that I have now learnt and use it find out some more information

My Holidays

Today I will be talking about the exciting things I did in the holidays. Starting off this blog post I will be talking about the first exciting thing I did in the holidays, the first thing I did was play a game called Fortnite, this game is a strategic game that requires you to have skill and experience,I found this game challenging because the players in the game are very skilled, I did not play this game alone, I actually played it with my friends Toma and Tevita. it was fun because we killed a lot of people and killed each other.

The other exciting things I did in the holidays was going to rainbow's end because it was fun spending time with my family there, and I also saw some school members there and family members. The first ride I went on was the stratosphere, it was scary but exciting when I was on it, the stratosphere is a ride when the ride spins and goes in the air, one thing I really liked was hearing people scream and laughing I had a great time at rainbow's end.



And the last thing I think that was exciting in my holidays was going to the park with my nieces and nephews, I think it was exciting because it was fun hearing them laugh and joke.

Production Reflection

IALT: Write an reflection about the production that happened yesterday

Yesterday we had to perform our production that we have been practicing for a week. I think the production went very well, and caught a lot of people's attention. My group in the production was the fijian group, we had to act out a scene that relates to natural disasters. Our natural disaster was floods, we had to act out a script, that relates to the flooding that happen in Fiji just months ago.

I was only there for the first performance because I had to leave because I felt sick. But I was still there for my performance so I still got to perform, One thing I felt challenging was remembering my lines. My next steps could be to talk with expression and really interact with the audience.

 During our practices we had worked hard to complete and read our lines, and also come up with a little dance before we show the audience our play. My character in the play was a fisherman named Seci I am a thief in the play. I think the best part about the production was creating costumes and props.

Natraul Disasters

WALT: Research about a natural disaster and define what it means to us 

Today the Kia Manawanui syndicate was talking about natural disasters. A natural disaster is a harmful event that can happen at any time not created by man but created by the earth's movement. Natural disasters are created in many ways for example an earthquake can cause a landslide. I think humans are not contributing in making natural disasters worst because if we were then that would mean we are kind of killing ourselves. A hurricane is a heap of dangerous wind that travels through the pacific island and the atlantic ocean. 


   

Hurricanes

Today the Kia Manawanui is researching about natural disasters. The natural disaster I was researching about was Hurricanes because I find Hurricanes very attracting and interesting. According to my research I found out that Hurricanes usually occur in the pacific ocean, I also found out that Hurricanes begin as tropical storms. Another awesome fact about Hurricanes is that the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 remains the deadliest natural disaster in U.S. history.

One thing I would like to learn about Hurricanes is why do they start as tropical cyclones and not earthquakes or any other natural disaster.

E-asttele Maths Test

Today the Kia Manawanui syndicate had an e-asttle maths test it wasn't any type of maths test it was different. This maths test was to see what we already know about decimals and percentages this was to show our Science teacher Mrs Fepuleai  how much we know. One thing I found challenging was answering the questions faster and also thinking of diffrent strategies to get my answer.

My next steps will be to think of diffrent strategies to get answers and to work on my decimals and percentages more. What I enjoyed about this test was answering different kind of questions that were even more challenging because I really like challenges. One thing I could improve on is maybe answering slower and taking my time instead of rushing and not thinking about the question.

My First Blog Reflection For Term 3 2018

In the holidays I did a lot of exciting things and one of them were with my family the other was with my friends. One exciting thing I did in the holidays was celebrate my birthday by going to the movies and watching a movie called Incredibles 2. The other thing that I got for my birthday was v bucks, v bucks is a sort of money in a game called Fortnite, v bucks is what you buy with real money to be able to buy clothes,axes,gliders and dances. I play this game at least 6 hours a day the other exciting thing that I did in the holidays playing the game Fortnite with my friend because, it was really fun getting kills and winning. This gave me a chance to catch up with my friends and to see how good they are at the game. What I find challenging in Fortnite is surviving the longest and getting at least 3 kills each game.
 What I am really looking forward to this term is sports and Tongan language week. Why you might be thinking well I am a Tongan myself and I am very proud to be a Tongan and I really like sports especially Rugby. What I want to improve on this term is my maths and building positive relationships because I am not really well with others and I don't really like to speak in front of others that I don't know well. 

     

Camp Raglan Activities

WALT: Find words that start with the letters A - Z that relates to camp

Today we had to finish off activities in our camp booklets. The activity I chose to do was the A - Z  vocabulary. the letter I found challenging was the letter X, the letter I found easy was the letter A because it was very easy to think of words the began with the letter A for example Abseiling,Amazing,Activities and Archery. Why I found the letter X challenging was because we never did any activities the began with the letter X and I could not describe camp with the letter X. I found this activity interesting and challenging because I like how it challenged me to come up with words that began with letters to describe things we did at camp Raglan. Can you think of a word that starts with the letter X that is related to camp?

Jupiter and our Solar System Understanding words

Today we read an article to try understand more words related to the topic of the Jupiter and its orbit. What I found challenging was trying think of a meaning for words that were related the topic and also was creating a diagram and also explaining my diagram back to others and. I made an diagram so it could explain what orbit means to me, in my own opinion orbit means rotating around and certain object for example in our solar system planets orbit around the sun and the moon orbits around earth. What I found easy was answering questions and drawing my diagram it was interesting to see how understand words that I don't mostly use and I found this article interesting because I learnt meanings to words I did not know about.

Tai Chi Lesson #7

IALT: Reflect on our Tai Chi Lesson.

This Morning the Kia Manawanui boys went to Tai Chi and we went over some breathing techniques. We went over some forms and one of the forms were called tiger form and one of the stances are called crane stance. Every Time before we do our stances and forms and we do breathing techniques and I will name a few for you one was called monkey washes face and from the earth.

A story that really touched me was our instructor Mr Gordon's young friend he was 15 and left school he was a landscaper and it was very interesting to hear a boy that was 15 had a great job and also pushed himself to the limit when people would not even have to ask to do something he would do it.

My first blog reflection for Term 2 2018

In the holidays I went to church and practiced reading my bible verse for white Sunday. If you don't go to church then I will tell you what white Sunday is all about white Sunday is a day when kids from church get given a verse from the bible or a verse from a hymn and you stand up in front of your church,and read out the bible verse or the hymn you got given from you teacher at church. 

And the other thing I did in the holidays was going to my Nephew's birthday. My Nephew was turning 2 years old his is name is Tore-to Pese we went to the the sky tower for his birthday. It was very fancy and a lot of food I really liked that I was up high and that the food was so delicious I was so hungry I called eat a whole bucket full of chicken My family was so thankful for inviting us to go to  our nephews birthday.

Talent Show Reflection

IALT: Reflect about my experience at the Talent Show Last night.

On Thursday the 5th of April we had a Talent show to fundraise money for our camp this year. We had to make our own groups and make up a performance to present to the people that came and watched our Talent Show. 

The first performance was a class performance and it was a song we had to sing and the song is called (This is Me) by The Greatest Showman. We had to make up moves to go with the song while were singing and dancing at the same time. But there were 3 lead singers and before we got up to perform I felt excited nervous and butterflies in my stomach. 

But after our performance I actually gained a lot of confidence for our next performances straight after our class performance. We had to perform our own song we made and that was called I know the Lord. During that performance I felt happy,excited and blessed.

After we had one more performance and it was a challenge also you had to dance to the song the song is called Joewana you had to make a dance that goes with the song. After everyone's performances we had one more and it was a class one to end the show off with a bang.  

Kiwisport/Volleyball Reflection

WALT: Write an reflection about Kiwisport/Volleyball

Today Kia Manawanui had Kiwisport and volleyball me and my group went to Kiwisport first. The Kiwisport was tennis I felt good to try my best at Kiwisport because I wanted to show the skills I learnt in our last few lessons and it was our last lesson and I wanted to make it worth it. I like the part when we were changing over because I wanted to see other people's skills and sometimes I was tired. I think I need to work on controlling the ball while hitting and to also move around while my opponent was hitting the ball. 

After tennis we had volleyball because volleyball is the next sport we will be training for the next school tournament. Something I learnt during volleyball was how to serve and rules about volleyball because I did not know much rules about volleyball. I think I need to improve on serving and also spiking because I would love to spike during a game of volleyball.I would like to do more spiking in our next training lessons because I think spiking can get your team a lot of points.

Kiwisport/Cricket Reflction

Today Kia Manawanui went to kiwisport in  two different groups. And one of the groups went to cricket and the other group went to kiwisport went to kiwisport first and we had tennis. We played a game called doubles and we had two get into a team of two and play against other teams, and the way to win was there would be a square you had to try control the ball to hit the ball into the square. It was very challenging and also very funny because sometimes we would hit the ball and we would lose, but it was funny because we would hit the ball so far or we would would hit the ball and not even make it over the net.    
Then we had to swap over and my group went to cricket and the other group went to tennis. When we went to cricket I was bowling first and I got someone out and I had a bat but then unfortunately I got out after a while. So I had to be a fielder and I caught the ball and got someone out but I let someone that didn't have a turn batting and that it was fun to field for a while.

Kiwisport/Cricket Reflction

WALT: Write an reflection about our Kiwisport/Cricket 

Today Kia Manawanui had Kiwisport/Cricket and we were split into two groups like usal. The first group went to Kiwisport first and the second group went to cricket first. I was in home group one and we had tennis first, so what I enjoyed about tennis was hitting the ball with the rackets and communicating to others I did not know very well. What I learnt at our tennis lesson was how to  hit the ball more soft and how to control the ball.

And then we swapped and home group one went to cricket and home group two went to tennis. And what I enjoyed about Cricket was hitting the ball far with the bat and also getting people out by bowling or catching the ball.What I learnt at Cricket was how to hit the ball and know when to run and when not to run also how to bowl without throwing the ball.

Then after we had Miss Fepuleai have a bowl and bat and she was AWESOME! she would hit so far and we would have to run far away to get the ball and she had the last bat and bowl.   

Amon - Maths Reflection

Today we had an maths we had get into groups of three or four. Then we got given problems to solve in the groups you got to choose I was with Aumau and Viliami. It was very easy to finish fast we would only get 2 questions each but some of us had the same equations and some of us had different equations but the equations were very interesting. 

I couldn't get over the fact that it was easy for us to move from page to page but it was good that we finished early because there was a group next to us that was struggling so we asked if they needed help and they said yes so we helped them and then Miss Komor. 

Came in the classroom and said that the group you are next to you and the group you are next will take turns asking each other questions after they explain how they found there answer and what strategy did they use we used algorithm.

Today we had Technology and we split up into 3 groups the 3 group names are hard material, cooking and also graphics. I am in hard material hard material is very fun making a lot of fun things like necklaces and also different things.If you go to Technology you could learn things you might have never known in your life, you could learn how to cook something you have never baked or cooked before. What I found challenging about hard material was drawing what I wanted to make and it was interesting.

  

Maths Reflection

WALT: Write an P.A.T maths test

Today Kia Manawanui had a P.A.T maths test it was very challenging and interesting at the same time. I think this means this can help me with my learning in maths.For example if I were to learn a new strategy then I could use during my test or even after. If you practice your multiplication, addition, division and subtraction you could use them during your test. What I found challenging was the question and also the problems and what I found interesting was my answer and how I answered the question.
